What is SEM
SEM is an abbreviation for Search Engine Marketing. This is usually described as the immediate search ranking or the paid ranking to rank higher in Google search. There are a few ways that search engines charge for this. They are called PPC (Pay per click), CPM (Cost per 1000 impressions) and CPA (Cost per acquisition).
With paid listing in the search results page we can expose our advertisement to a much targeted audience, for example 30-40 years old men interested in electrical industry living in Carnegie etc.
This type of ranking has a bidding model behind it. Therefore we always pay for the winning bid so that our ad can be positioned at the right place at the right time.
